Dear Riders, Families, Spectators, Fans, Sponsors and Friends of BCMA
Once again in an attempt to sabotage another race with in the province of BC; late this evening a mass email has falsely been sent out by Travis and Jeanine Acheson of Kelowna claiming that Pemberton will not count for BCMA South Series points, this information is wrong. Pemberton being the furthest south track of all the BCMA tracks, will most definitely count for BCMA South Series Points, as well as Hi-Points. Pemberton is not in the BCMA North Series, as they have stated in this letter.
Sadly they are dragging everyone through this battle for power that they have, and the BCMA Board of Directors would like everyone to know that they will continue to work tirelessly with CMRC towards a permanent solution to this continual problem.
We apologize for everyones frusteration, we completely understand how you must feel.
After a public announcement made in Ashcroft on May 6th, by Jeanine Acheson, the BCMA would like to clarify some misleading information. The BCMA is a rider/club driven organization which was created in 2002 comprising of members elected by you the riders at your local club level. For the last 10 years these elected officials have worked together to implement rules and regulations with the in the ...guidelines of the CMRC for the betterment of MX in BC. The BCMA South was a self-appointed group started by Travis and Jeanine Acheson. At the start of the 2012 season Travis held a position of president on the BCMA board. He wanted to see the BCMA board split into 3 executives, a north, a south, and a main board. The existing BCMA executive voted against this motion. Within days of Travis resigning a BCMA South society had been started, without the knowledge or consent of BCMA or CMRC. This society ISN’T recognized by the CMRC or the BCMA. The only CMRC sanctioning body in BC mainland is the BCMA. All clubs receive their insurance under the sanctioning of BCMA. The BCMA has received many complaints from the riders over the last few weeks, please also let your clubs know about your concerns. This is YOUR organization - be heard! CMRC rules regarding practice/race weekends are as follows,
An open insured practice day that is either operating with an event, such as practice/race weekend and applied as such or a stand-alone practice event that has been officially scheduled and advertised on CMRC/Regional websites is an event and must be implemented and promoted with CMRC license holders only.
On behalf of the BCMA I apologize for any misunderstandings, but a CMRC race license or CMRC weekend pass is required in order to participate in BCMA/CMRC scheduled race or race/practice events. (April 11, 2012)
